Tootsie Pippa found herself pregnant at a high kill shelter in Southern California. She had no microchip, license, or ID during her three-day stray hold. Sadly, she was immediately put on the euthanasia list due to her pregnancy. However, we managed to rescue her just in time, one hour before the deadline. The next day, Tootsie gave birth to six beautiful puppies, although one sadly passed away shortly after birth.
During this time, Tootsie Pippa also suffered from pneumonia or a severe case of upper respiratory infection. She received supportive care for 10 days and miraculously made a full recovery while still caring for her newborn pups. It has now been four months since we rescued Tootsie, and she has been spayed, vetted, and is now ready to find her forever home.
Tootsie is an incredibly friendly dog who is eager to please. She is fully housebroken, leash trained, and loves to be with her person at all times. We believe she is a mix of poodle and Shih Tzu, or possibly Brussels Griffon and Maltese, but regardless of her breed, she has a very low to no shedding coat. Tootsie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, making her a great addition to any family.
Tootsie Pippa deserves a loving and supportive home where she will receive all the love and care she needs for the rest of her life.
